The mission of the Children’s Outpatient is to provide effective and efficient behavioral health services to all children and their families in Pinellas County regardless of the presenting problem and to assist them in reaching their highest possible level of functioning. The program serves all of Pinellas County but South Pinellas County is the targeted service area. The program goals are to increase the behavioral and mental health functioning of primary youth and to maintain the successes that are achieved during the aftercare component. Program activities include individual family marital and group therapy psychiatric evaluations medication therapy and follow up consultation education and referral services and an array of parent training and education programs. Services are provided countywide with a strong focus on the South St. Petersburg area. The program supports JWB’s Strategic Plan goals serving youth ages 0-6 and 10-14 and also addresses the Plan’s strategic areas of sex, drugs, violence, and family support.
