Ed Simon, Senior Researcher

Ed Simon joined JWB in April 2006 after moving from Miami, FL to Lakewood Ranch, FL in September 2005. He is a native New Yorker where he grew up in the Bronx less than ½ mile from Yankee Stadium. Ed moved to Miami in 1970 when Ed’s company, Eastern Airlines, transferred most departments to corporate headquarters in Miami.

Ed had a long career in the transportation industry, including twenty-six years at Eastern Air Lines where he worked in various capacities in economic planning, market research and analysis, forecasting, marketing and administration and developed an appetite for international travel. Prior to joining JWB, Ed was a Sr. Marketing Associate for the Miami Jewish Home & Hospital for the Aged where he did demographic analysis, marketing research & analysis and website development related to the senior population of South Florida.

Ed’s major focus at JWB is researching, developing, analyzing and disseminating demographic, social and economic indicators regarding child well being in Pinellas County. In particular, Ed has been instrumental in developing and maintaining the data, charts and commentary contained in JWB’s www.AboutPinellasKids.org website.

Ed has a Bachelor of Arts in Economic Statistics from the City College of New York (CCNY), a Master of Arts in Economics from New York University and post-graduate work in Finance at Florida International University. Ed is married, has three children and seven grandchildren.
