South County

The JWB South County Community Council (SCCC) is a diverse citizen advisory group maximizing consumer participation by identifying community strengths and needs, developing potential solutions, and advocating on behalf of children and families in South Pinellas County. The SCCC members keep in touch with the needs, strengths and trends in their communities, and provide this information to JWB. The current advocacy focus areas for the SCCC are helping children through caring, committed adults; maximizing the Childs Park and Children's Initiatives; and researching the best practices to ensure efficient and efficacy systems of care. The SCCC hopes to be a strategic part of the Children’s Initiatives and are dedicated to helping south county connect resources rather than finding additional funds. They have also committed to adopting families for the holidays and making donations towards the Harbordale YMCA annual dinner with Santa.
